Be Present

Most of us struggle with simply being present. Some of us ‘check out’ because we have not confronted our own pain and therefore cannot be present to the pain or demands of others. Others of us are so conditioned to think it is what we do and accomplish that counts that we’ve never developed a practice of simply being present…. We are all both addicts and healers, both recipients and contributors, both those who welcome others into our community of belonging and those needing to be reminded daily that we ourselves are welcome. We all need to know we belong. ~ K. Killian Noe

Working or Believing?

"It is much easier to do something than to trust in God....That is why there are so few fellow workers with God and so many workers for Him. We would rather work for God than believe in Him." ~ Oswald Chambers

Communing With Him?

I fear that for the most part people are worshiping worship rather than worshiping God and communing with HIM. ~ A.W. Tozer

Don't Be Discouraged

"Do not be discouraged if your faithful service to God has imperceptible results. They are imperceptible only to the naked eye. They are highly valued in the eternal kingdom, where those who give away their lives find them again." ~ Chris Tiegreen

Source of Our Supply

"We are God's representatives in this world, set here to prove and to display His faithfulness. Our attitude, our words and our actions must all declare that He alone is our source of supply." ~ Watchman Nee

Earthbound Creatures

In a very real sense we are earthbound creatures, caught always in the rigid context by which our experiences are defined. The particular fact or experience which we are facing at the moment, or the memory of other particular facts or experiences from other moments - these are our openings, these are the doors through which we enter into wider meanings, into wider contexts. ~ Howard Thurman

Choice of Attention

Choice of attention - to pay attention to this and ignore that - is to the inner life what choice of action is to the outer. In both cases, a person is responsible for their choice and must accept the consequences. ~ W. H. Auden

Invitation to Intimacy

A life of brokenness’s is an invitation to intimacy. His closeness and salvation are worth this time of brokenness. Don’t buck brokenness. Instead, rely on Him and get to know Him at this deeper level of intimacy. You are much better broken because brokenness leads to intimacy with God. ~ Boyd Bailey

Compare to: Audience of One

"Pride is the number one hindrance to revival, and the basis of pride is comparison. Humility comes by comparing yourself to only One, the Lord Jesus.” ~ Richard Owen Roberts

Power of the Resurrection

The grace and mercy of God never contradicts His holiness because it leads to the cross and empty tomb. The cross tells us God loves us as we are not as we should be. The power of the resurrection is the declaration that God doesn't leave us as we are but loves us enough to restore the image of Himself in us. It is through the cross and resurrection that we participate in the fellowship of the Trinity. Our deepest heart's desires are satisfied in that space. ~ John Comstock

We Are All Ragamuffins

We ALL desperately need God in ways we do not even fully understand. We are all ragamuffins. As my former pastor, Dr. Rick Power said, "Some of us just don't know we are ragamuffins yet." Yet, we all share a common, desperate need for the Risen Christ to show up in our brokenness. ~ John Comstock

Revival...

“I do not preach any new truth. I do not have any new doctrine.... We must have a revival that will mean purity of heart as a normal standard for everybody. We must be clean people, and not only clean outside.” ~ A. W. Tozer
