No Compromise

“If you have self-respect, you will take satisfaction in being well groomed and will not allow yourself to perform shabbily. You will continue to work toward high standards and goals to serve others, to continue and to practice self-discipline. You will not compromise your standards or beliefs.” ~ Marvin J. Ashton

23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. ~ Colossians 3:23-24 (NIV)

Teachings of the Bible Are Interwoven...

"Every thinking man, when he thinks, realizes that the teachings of the Bible are so interwoven and entwined with our whole civic and social life that it would be literally impossible for us to figure ourselves what that life would be if these standards were removed. We would lose almost all the standards by which we now judge both public and private morals; all the standards towards which we, with more or less resolution, strive to raise ourselves." ~ Theodore Roosevelt

High Standards

"Hold yourself responsible for a higher standard than anybody else expects of you. Never excuse yourself. Never pity yourself. Be a hard master to yourself - and be lenient to everybody else." ~ Henry Ward Beecher

Give Him All You've Got

"A Christian who lives by a two standards is a laughingstock to the world and reproach to Jesus Christ. Therefore, it only makes sense to study scripture in order to learn how we should live....We are in the world, but NOT of it. We have to make a choice. "Will I do the will of God, or stay safe and follow the crowd?" Be BOLD for Jesus...Be willing to separate yourself from things of the world....After all, He deserves nothing less than everything we've got." ~ Percella "Percy" Snyder

Judgment & Criticism

"It is easy to criticize people whose behaviors fail to meet our personal standards, but our judgment and criticism are generally the result of our ignorance rather than our superiority." ~ T. L. Butts

Take Them to the Gospel

"While a Christian family should maintain high moral standards, many fail to recognize that such standards are insufficient. They are not inherently life-changing for children. We must always take our children back to the cross, to the gospel and grace of Christ." ~ Randy Alcorn
