When my time came to let go of our children, I was able to do so largely because my mother had taught me that you don't let go of a relationship - only your dependence on it. She had done it well trusting God to protect her kids, and for this and all the other things she and Dad did, I give thanks to God. For I had a model of what to do in my own parenting.
