Satan's Plan for You

Satan has in fact a plan against the saints of the Most High which is to wear them out. What is meant by this phrase, "wear out"? It has in it the idea of reducing a little this minute, then reducing a little further the next minute. Reduce a little today, reduce a little tomorrow. Thus the wearing out is almost imperceptible; nevertheless, it is a reducing. The wearing down is scarcely an activity of which one is conscious, yet the end result is that there is nothing left. He will take away your prayer life little by little, and cause you to trust God less and less and yourself more and more, a little at a time. He will make you feel somewhat cleverer than before. Step by step, you are misled to rely more on your own gift, and step by step your heart is enticed away from the Lord. Now, were Satan to strike the children of God with great force at one time, they would know exactly how to resist the enemy since they would immediately recognize his work. He uses the method of gradualism to wear down the people of God.

Sometimes we forget that he has a plan too and we let our guard down. BUT GOD's plan is bigger and better! Hang on to Jesus!

this is my 'favorite' and what I think is the most powerful quote you've had on this particular site :)

have a great day :)

Thanks Randi! My hope is that the quotes will touch someones life and encourage them to become more like Jesus and to remind people of the spiritual battle going on that often we don't see!

well I believe you have influenced my life wonderfully. these small seeds in me I know will bloom wonderful harvests. small seeds are what it takes just like satan's devil work.... frying the frog by turning up the heat bit by bit so he doesn't even jump out because he can't tell the temperature is rising. before he knows what happened, he's burned and scarred.

I feel like I've been blessed with an ability to see beyond my senses. I can see how little tiny decisions make the difference. I can imagine the heavens cheering for me/us when the little 'small' decisions in our hourly 'regular', routine life are made. If anything matters than that means everything matters. Not to get all paranoid and make ourselves feel guilty of our mistakes --- but to realize that God is with us every minute and He's watching EVERY decision and every decision is either making us closer to Him (but including Him in it) or pulling us further away (doing things 'on our own' and not including Him).

a quote I sort of "made up" and tell myself is...

'the most eternally-significant successes are not the worldly-praised and worldly-recognized victories but instead the small decisions in our daily life that nobody sees or hears about.'

The decisions to take a step toward God and away from the world. The decisions to guard our heart & mind. The decisions of what to do with our time. The decisions to walk away from sin. The decisions to hold in our anger and ask God to fill us up with Him to be able to able. The decision to allow God to help us control our emotions. The decisions to open the Bible instead of the cupboard. (these are just what is applicable in my life right now)

thanks for you!! :)

Randi,

Thanks for sharing! You are appreciated! Your quotes are terrific - we do need to think about the small things the little choices that can change our lives.

What you said "if anything matters then everything matters" is so true - I'm pretty sure I posted that whole quote here somewhere from - The Shack by William Young - just check its on January 1, 2008. I really enjoyed that book - I know a lot of turmoil/discussion has come from it, but what I took away was all good. Some parts can be confusing, but it is fiction not Scripture. Have you read it yet? I know you mentioned wanting to read it. I posted a couple times about the book at my reading room blog too.

If you have other quotes you want to share, please feel free you can either post them in a comments section or email them to me and you might just see them in a future post. I like to take a lot of the quotes I use from books I've read.

Have a terrific SONday!

hey robin! :) I didn't see your response here until just now! :) YES I read the shack and was so moved by it!!! Of course people always take things overboard and you're right it's fiction!!! It's not meant to be an end all be all law. It's to get people to think about GOd. to challenge our stagnant beliefs. I took so so so so so many wonderful thigns away from that book. I can't wait to talk about it more on my books blog!!! :)

sometimes I feek myself getting overwhelmed with just how much I'm learning/ want to blog about.... but I just have to remind myself that these lessons are a part of me and they will come out when needed. The spirit reminds us of what we need... when we need it. I will get organized eventually..

:)
thanks for you!

love,

I so agree and needed to be reminded of this... Thanks!
