Heartache
forces us to embrace God out of desperate, urgent need. God is never closer
than when your heart is aching. ~ Joni Eareckson Tada
I enjoy collecting quotations that inspire thought and provide motivation for eternal change.

HE Weeps...
God holds back; He hides Himself; He weeps. Why? Because He desires what power can never win. He is a King who wants no subservience, but love. ~ Philip Yancey

The Church...
The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ will not go under, for He is the foundation of the Church. It belongs to Him. And, the Lord of the Church is still in the Church. The Church is not in Crisis, the Church is in Christ. ~ Nina Gunter

Calvary Love...
If I am soft to myself and slide comfortably into self-pity and self-sympathy, if I do not by the grace of God practice fortitude, then I know nothing of Calvary love. If I myself dominate myself, if my thoughts revolve round myself, if I am so occupied with myself I rarely have “a heart at leisure from itself,” then I know nothing of Calvary love.…That which I know not, teach Thou me, O Lord, my God. — Amy Carmichael

Interruptions Come...
Interruptions come in different ways and in different forms: losing your job, being falsely accused, having what belongs to you taken. When God stops the progress of your own plans, He is often up to something. God may interrupt your life in the form of a tragedy, a broken heart, or a strong conviction that's hard to shake. These interruptions should not be taken lightly. God has a plan that is guaranteed to be better on the other side of the interruption.

Second Chance Grace...
We cringe at the extension of grace to the perpetrator until we become the perpetrator. Then, like David, we also find ourselves hoping for a second chance. ~ Laurie Short

You Have a Calling...

Election Advice from 1774
I met those of our society who had votes in the ensuring election, and advised them, 1. To vote, without fee or reward, for the person they judged most worthy: 2. To speak no evil of the person they voted against: And, 3. To take care their spirits were not sharpened against those that voted on the other side. ~ John Wesley, October 6, 1774

Length and Width...
I don't want to get to the end of my life and find that I have just lived the length of it. I want to have lived the width of it as well.
