Interruptions or The Plan?

"We must be ready to allow ourselves to be interrupted by God. God will be constantly crossing our paths and cancelling our plans by sending us people with claims and petitions. We may pass them by, preoccupied with our more important tasks, as the priest passed by the man who had fallen among thieves, perhaps - reading the Bible..... it is part of the discipline of humility that we must not spare our hand where it can perform a service and we do not assume that our schedule is our own to manage, but allow it to be arranged by God."

~ Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Reminder...

"Every day of my life, I must remind myself that I am a child of God and have God the Holy Spirit indwelling and empowering me to say no to sin and yes to God. Every day I must live in the truth that I can present the members of my body for righteousness because of this indwelling power of the Holy Spirit. Every day I must make it my will to live for God. I must. I can. I will."~ Kay Arthur

God's Dream for You...

"God's dream for you will always involve helping others in some way. Look for opportunities to help others. Use your talents and what you love to do. Cooks cook, writers write, dancers dance, speakers speak, painters paint, accountants work those numbers." ~ Tiffany Stuart

Life Isn't Fair

"The assumption that life shouldn’t be so hard leads to self-pity and endless finger pointing. We see life as unfair and ourselves as victims, and focus on the offenses others have done against us. We fail to realize these offenses pale in comparison to our own offenses against God, who not only forgives us, but requires and enables us to forgive others and move forward free from the past." ~ Randy Alcorn http://ref.ly/Mt18.21-35

If today were your last...

‎"If today were your last, would you do what you're doing? Or would you love more, give more, forgive more? Then do so! Forgive and give as if it were your last opportunity. Love like there's no tomorrow, and if tomorrow comes, love again." ~ Max Lucado

Do Not Be Axious

“Christ told his disciples not to be anxious about tomorrow, but he never said not to consider tomorrow. Intelligent problem solving demands careful consideration of the future effects of present solutions.” ~ R. C. Sproul

Cynicism

“It is only the cynicism that is born of success that is penetrating and valid.” ~ George Jean Nathan

Real Living

"The path to real living- the living that will sustain you and lead you to a true discovery of real love, provision and satisfaction is found only by following Jesus. Big things can be brought down by little things. But with Jesus, He can resurrect everything brought down by Satan. He is the lifter of your head, the redeemer of your circumstances, and the One who can set you back in flight." ~ Lysa TerKeurst

I have learned...

"I have learned that I am not equipped to handle what others have—both good and bad. I am, on the other hand, completely equipped to handle what I’ve been given. And the more time I spend being thankful for my life, the less I look around wishing for something else." ~ Lysa TerKeurst

War

"Our Father in heaven...help us to see that it is better to fail in a cause that will ultimately succeed than to succeed in a cause that will ultimately fail." ~ Peter Marshall

Neutral Ground?

"There is no neutral ground in the universe; every square inch, every split second is claimed by God and counterclaimed by Satan." ~ C. S. Lewis

Prayer Is...

"Great grief prays with great earnestness. Prayer is not a collection of balanced phrases; it is the pouring out of the soul. What is love if it be not fiery? What are prayers if the heart be not ablaze? They are the battles of the soul. In them men wrestle with principalities and powers...The prayer that prevails is not the work of lips and fingertips. It is the cry of a broken heart and the travail of a stricken soul." ~ Samuel Chadwick
